Since 2018: Prorector for Studies, Teaching and Gender Equality

Main Research Interests:

  • Language and communication in social media
  • Corpus linguistics (methods, resources, didactics)
  • Internet lexicography
  • Analysis of multimodal hypertexts

She teaches, for example:

  • VL Methods of Linguistics
  • VL Internet lexicography
  • VL Digital Language Resources in Linguistics
  • HS Hypertext Linguistics
  • HS Language change and new media


From 2018 to 2021, Prof. Storrer will serve as Prorector for Studies, Teaching and Gender Equality as a member of the Rectorate. During this period she is only available to a limited extent as a lecturer and examiner. She is represented by Dr. Eva Gredel

    • Since 2015 Member of the scientific advisory board of the German Society for Computational Linguistics (GSCL).
    • Since 2014 Member of the discipline-specific working group ,Deutsche Philologie’ (en: German Philology), (1) of the CLARIN-D funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (Coordinator: Thomas Gloning, University of Gießen).
    • Since 2013 Member of the Special Interest Group on Computer-mediated Communication (CMC-SIG) of the Text Encoding Initiative TEI.
    • 2012-2018 Chair of Sektion Lexikographie und Kollokationen (en. Section Lexicography and Collocations) of the Gesellschaft für Angewandte Linguistik GAL e.V. (en. Society for Applied Linguistics) (together with Dr. Annette Klosa, IDS Mannheim).
    • 2012-2018 Member of the scientific advisory board of the infrastructure project DARIAH-DE (Digital Infrastructure for the Arts and Humanities – Germany) funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
    • Since 2011 Member of the discipline-specific working group Applied Linguistics, Computational linguistics (Translation, Computational Linguistics, Text Mining, Lexicography, Language Learning Research), (F-AG 7) of the infrastructure project CLARIN-D funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (Coordinator: Anette Frank, University of Heidelberg).
    • Since 2007 Member of the Commission Zentrum Sprache at the Berlin-Brandenburgische Akademie der Wissenschaften (BBAW) (en. Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities).
    • 2007-2014 Member of the board of directors of the German Society for Computational Linguistics (GSCL).
    • Since 1995 Head of the working group Hypermedia: Gesellschaft für Sprachtechnologie und Computerlinguistik (GSCL) (formely GLDV) (en. German Society for Computational Linguistics and Language Technology) (together with Roman Schneider, IDS Mannheim und Bernhard Schröder, University of Duisburg-Essen).
