  • The PhD project

Emma Miller-Hund is writing her PhD thesis on the topic “Spheres of Action and Agency of Non-Elite Women in Norfolk: A Comparative Study of Women in Conflict from 1450 to 1550”. In her research, she examines conflicts documented in the records of various late medieval English courts (manor, borough and ecclesiastical courts) in which women in Norfolk were involved between 1450 and 1550, and analyses them using sociological conflict theories. The doctoral project thus adopts an interdisciplinary approach. The thesis will be written in English.
