Lothar Kreimendahl held the Chair of Philosophy I at the University of Mannheim from 1995 until his retirement in July 2017. His research and teaching focussed on modern philosophy, in particular British empiricism, the philosophy of the British, French and German Enlightenment and Kant's Kant's transcendental idealism. From 1996 to 2017, Lothar Kreimendahl headed the Mannheim Kant Index Centre (Mannheimer Arbeitsstelle Kant-Index), which, in cooperation with the centre at the University of Trier, carried out the computer-assisted recording of Kant's texts and their word-statistical analysis. From 2005 to 2014, he headed the Lambert Edition Centre (“Arbeitsstelle Lambert-Edition”).
