COST-Action „European Network for Combining Language Learning with Crowdsourcing Techniques“

The COST Action “European Network for Combining Language Learning with Crowdsourcing Techniques” (CA 16105), enetCollect for short, aims to exploit the potential of crowdsourcing methods for teaching and learning foreign languages. Crowdsourcing describes a type of division of labour in which (partial) tasks are outsourced to a group of volunteers who provide, for example, language data and teaching materials. Building on the crowdsourcing methods, methods and procedures are evaluated and (further) developed that flexibly adapt language learning materials to diverse language learning profiles, such as those resulting from migration processes. The network, funded by 2017–2021 under the EU Horizon2020 program, brings together actors from various disciplines (including computational linguistics, computer science, engineering sciences, linguistics, corpus linguistics, psychology and language didactics) from 35 countries; Angelika Storrer and Tassja Weber from the University of Mannheim are involved. The network is coordinated by Lionel Nicolas and Verena Lyding (Eurac Research Bozen/Bolzano).
