Roland Glaesser is a lecturer at the Department of Philosophy and is responsible for the language courses in preparation for the latin proficiency certificate (Latinum). After his studies in classical philology, ancient history and philosophy in Bonn and Heidelberg (first state examination in Greek in 1978, in Latin in 1979, second state examination in 1984) and the completion of a doctorate in classical philology (1984), Dr Glaesser taught Latin and Greek as a high school teacher until 2012. Since 1978 he has also been teaching Latin and Greek at the University of Heidelberg. Since 2012 he has been teaching Latin at the University of Mannheim.
