Christian Wendelborn is currently a visting lecturer at the Department of Philosophy at the University of Mannheim, where he has been teaching and conducting research since 2016. Christian Wendelborn has been working at the University of Konstanz as a lecturer for the Basic Ethical-Philosophical Studies (EPG) since 2014 and as EPG coordinator since 2015. Since September 2020 he has been a research assistant at the DATABLIC research project at the DKFZ in Heidelberg.

His research focuses on practical philosophy, in particular metaethics (questions of normativity and theories of practical reasons, metaethics of the prudentially good) as well as applied ethics and political philosophy (data ethics, bioethics, freedom of expression). He also works on questions of educational philosophy and educational justice.

In teaching, he gives seminars in various areas of practical philosophy. In addition to applied ethics (bioethics, animal ethics), his seminars also cover topics from political and social philosophy (speech act theory in political philosophy, freedom of expression, theories of alienation in Marx, Jaeggi and Rosa, Simmel's philosophy of money) as well as classical texts of metaethics and normative ethics (J.L. Mackie, S. Kagan). He moreover offers seminars on specific topics of metaethics (normativity theories, experimental moral philosophy).

In addition, Christian Wendelborn holds training courses for teachers in the fields of philosophy and ethics (most recently on behalf of the Landesinstitut für Pädagogik und Medien in Saarland) as well as training courses on data ethics (at the University of Konstanz).
