Dr. Eva Gredel, B.Sc.


Dr. Eva Gredel is an academic assistant at the Chair of German Linguistics. She currently holds a professorship position there.

After her first degree in German, Romance and Media and Communication Studies as well as her second degree in Business Administration, she received her doctorate at the University of Mannheim in 2014. She is currently working as a Wrangell Fellow on her postdoctoral thesis on digital discourses in the online encyclopedia Wikipedia. 

Her research interests include:

  • Discourse Linguistics
  • Corpus Linguistics / Digital Methods
  • Digital Cultures
  • media linguistics
  • sociolinguistics
  • corporate communication

She teaches, for example:

  • HS Discourses – digital: theories, methods, case studies
  • HS Digital Methods in Linguistics
  • HS Multimodality
