Prof. Dr. Arnulf Depperman is the Head of the Department of Pragmatics and area “Interaction” at the Leibniz Institute for the German Language and professor for German Linguistics at the University of Mannheim. He studied Psychology, German Linguistics and Philosophy and completed his Ph.D. in 1997 (dissertation topic: “Glaubwürdigkeit im Konflikt. Rhetorische Techniken in Streitgesprächen. Prozessanalysen von Schlichtungsgesprächen”).
His research interests focus on:
