Prof. Dr. Thomas Spranz-Fogasy

Prof. Dr. phil. Thomas Spranz-Fogasy is an Academic Staff Member at the Department of Pragmatics at the Leibniz Institute for the German Language.  He is also working on the project “Interaktive Bedeutungskonstitution” (Constitution of meaning in social interaction), with focus on “Bedeutungsklärung in der Psychotherapie” (Clarification of meaning in psychotherapy).

After his studies of German studies, Philosophy and History at the University of Heidelberg, he completed his Ph.D. in 1985 (dissertation topic: “contradicting” in mediation talks). In 1996, he habilitated at the University of Mannheim.

His research interests focus on:
