Since October 2024, Dr. Yevhen Tsymbalenko has been a researcher at the Institute for Media and Communication Studies. As part of the university-wide InnoMA project, he is currently developing a digital teaching course titled “Introduction to Media History and Media Systems”.
Dr. Tsymbalenko defended his PhD dissertation, titled “Informatization of Social Communications: Scientific Concepts, Legal Components, and Sectoral Structure,” in 2013 at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Ukraine. In 2015, he qualified as an Associate Professor. His scientific interests encompass transformations in media communications, internet and media safety, media literacy, digital journalism, and distance education. He has published over 50 articles in scientific journals and has teaching experience in Poland (Adam Mickiewicz University, Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa), Hungary (Central European University), and Great Britain (The Bath Spa University). He also has extensive experience in Erasmus+ and DAAD project writing and implementation.
In the near future, Dr. Tsymbalenko plans to use focus groups to investigate the impact of Russian propaganda on shaping narratives among Ukrainian refugees in Germany.
