Visiting Professor Dr. Pascal Schneiders will serve as an adjunct professor at the University of Mannheim from August 2026 to July 2027.

He studied journalism and economics (B.A.) as well as media management (M.A.) at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. He subsequently earned his Ph.D. there with a dissertation on the platformization of the news ecosystem. Pascal Schneiders has been working as a research assistant at the Institute for Journalism since 2018, and has served as co-spokesperson for the Media Structures Network since 2025.

In his research, Pascal Schneiders focuses primarily on news consumption, opinion-forming processes, and changes in the media, platforms, and the public sphere, with a particular interest in regulatory implications.
In his teaching, Pascal Schneiders covers topics such as media reception and effects research as well as survey methodology.
