Wolfgang Freitag ist Professor für Theoretische Philosophie/Sprach­philosophie. Er studierte Philosophie, Geschichte, Politik und Mathematik in Konstanz, Liverpool, Austin/Texas und Oxford. Nach Promotion (2005) und Habilitation (2010) im Fach Philosophie in Konstanz folgten Vertretungs­professuren in Bern und Heidelberg. 2013 folgte er einem Ruf der Universität Freiburg auf den Lehr­stuhl für Epistemology and Theoryof Science. 2018 wechselte er auf den Lehr­stuhl für Theoretische Philosophie/Sprach­philosophie an der Universität Mannheim. Seine Forschungs­interessen betreffen zentrale Fragen der Theoretischen Philosophie (insbesondere Sprach­philosophie, Philosophie des Geistes, Er­kenntnistheorie, Metaphysik und Logik) sowie ausgewählte Themen der Praktischen Philosophie (z.B. Metaphysik der Normen).
