Manuel Kulzer took his degrees in the Bachelor's and Master's Programs in Culture and Economy: Media and Communication Studies at the University of Mannheim. His master's thesis was written at the department of quantitative marketing and investigated trade-offs between user privacy and the benefits of data-driven recommendation systems. Alongside his interest in quantitative methods and statistics Manuel Kulzer is also interested in the study of media trust and credibility, the public sphere and activism and the impact of data extraction for behavioral prediction on individual evaluations of autonomy. This will be the focus of his dissertation.
