Wales, Großbritannien: Swansea University

Spotlight: This is the Swansea University – Gain useful insights, facts, and insider information about our partner university in Wales

The research-oriented, internationally, recognised and award-winning Swansea University is located on the south coast of Wales. Nearly 20,000 young people, of whom over 1,000 are international students, study here on two campuses. Both are located on the coast and are connected by the beautiful Swansea Bay Cycle Path.

The Student Union offers a wide range of nearly 200 initiatives, from K-Pop to Marvel & DC comics there is something for everyone. It is also present on social media: on a YouTube channel, students regularly publish vlogs about their everyday life during their studies.

The humanities are best known for their leading Media & Film Studies programme, which was recently voted one of Britain's top five by the Guardian. In a “Media Creativity Suite” students can use the latest media equipment, editing programs and experiment much more. The humanities are housed on the Singleton Campus, which is like a small city district in its own right, with numerous dining facilities, a supermarket and a large sports complex. The city centre of Swansea can be reach by a 15 minute drive from the campus. The university can also score with great nature: one hour south is the Gower Peninsula, which connects long sandy beaches with coastal hiking trails or Llangennith Beach, a well-known surf spot.

The application is open to all students of English Studies and – Attention! – since recently also for the MKW possible. The proof of language proficiency can be provided by Mannheim Language Certificate. Accommodation on campus is possible.

The application deadline is 31 January!
