The list below provides you with a first overview of all the universities abroad the School of Humanities cooperates with. Detailed and up-to-date information about the exchange programs available to you in your specific degree program and the applicable requirements can be found on the pages of the International Office.

How to find the right partner university When looking for a suitable partner university, always make sure it offers a sufficient number of courses in the subject area of your degree program. During your semester abroad, you will be enrolled at the School corresponding to your main subject (B.ed.: the subject you applied with). Many (not all) partner universities will allow incoming students to choose some classes from other Schools, as well. However, the majority of your classes should be chosen from your own School's offer. Some partners only allow course selection within the respective department.

This is particularly relevant for students of media and communication as the communication sciences are not always housed in the School of Humanities or its equivalents.

Students of Culture and Economy-programs should consider whether they would like to take classes in interdisciplinary modules (IKW) or their core modules or both. Some of our partner universities are well-suited for interdisciplinary courses but not core courses or vice versa.

All students should be mindful that the academic profile of the School of Humanities and options for individual focus are diverse. If a partner university is available for exchange in a certain program, this does not automatically mean that all students of that program will find courses matching their individual study profile. Therefore, please make sure to not only read the general information about partner universities, but also browse through their course catalogs and consult the reports written by students who went there in previous years.
