Language Skills

For some of our master's programs we require knowledge of English or the respective language studied equivalent to level B2 or C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. As a rule, you must prove your language skills to us when applying for a master's program. We accept a wide variety of language certificates, tests, and certificates at different levels. Below you will find a list of all certificates that we accept as proof of the required foreign language skills. Please refer to the respective selection statutes to find out which language skills are required for your degree program.

Irrespective of your foreign language skills, you must also provide proof of German proficiency unless you have a German university entrance qualification. Please refer to the Regulations on Admission and Enrollment (ZulImmaO) of the University of Mannheim for more detailed information on who has to provide which kind of proof and when proofs must be submitted.
