Bonjour et ça va? Our French partner university, Université Franche-Comtéin Besançon, France, has existed since 1432 – today it is particularly renowned for its excellent Centre for Applied Linguistics, which researches the disciplines of linguistics and French as a foreign language.
You study here with around 24,000 fellow students, of which around 2,600 are currently international students, on four campuses, which are distributed in and around Besançon. Both the university and the city itself look back on a rich past; in the city and its surroundings there are several museums that deal with the regions eventful history.
On the campus itself you will find a botanical garden, several libraries, a gym and two students houses, which are designed for students' leisure time and can be compared with youth centres for example. In addition, there are more than 100 initiatives that are always looking forward to working with them.
Besançon is located in the east of France, at about the height between Basel and Bern. So departuers to Switzerland or back to Germany are just as easy as trips to Paris or Milan.
Attention: the lessons are held in French. The language certificate can be obtained through the Mannheim Language Certificate. The application is open for all French studies (BA and MA), the Master in Literature, Media and Culture of Modernity and the Master in Language and Communication.
The application deadline is 31 January!
