Seoul, South Korea: Hankuk University of Foreign Studies

Spotlight: Our partner university in South Korea

환영 – Welcome to Hankuk University of Foreign Studies!

The Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS) is located in Seoul, the capital of South Korea. HUFS is a private university founded in 1954, which focuses especially on foreign languages. However, subjects such as business administration and economics can also be found in the lecture catalog.

The City – Seoul

Seoul is the largest city in the country with a population of almost 9,767,000. Historic buildings and temples meet modern shopping malls and giant LED panels that compete with the Times Square in New York City. It's not for nothing that Seoul has a reputation for never sleeping.

The districts of Gangnam and Myeongdong are worth a visit, and for a long weekend, excursions to one of the country's national parks or to numerous beaches are ideal.

Especially worth seeing is the cherry blossom in spring, but also the autumn attracts with beautiful natural spectacles. The climate in Seoul is similar to that in Germany, except that it rains much more in the summer and in the winter the temperatures fall below zero more often.

Who should apply for this exchange program?

The application for a semester abroad at HUFS is open to all bachelor students of languages and philologies (except Romance studies), history, media and communication studies and philosophy (partly also to some of the respective master's programs). Language proficiency can be verified by TOEFL or IELTS.

Accommodation in dormitories on campus can be organized.

The application deadline is 15 October!
