With admission as a doctoral candidate by the PhD Committee, you automatically become a member of our Graduate School.
The Graduate School offers a wide range of support services specifically tailored to the needs of doctoral researchers. Our onboarding program will help you quickly settle into your new role.
In addition, we actively promote networking among doctoral candidates to facilitate the exchange of ideas and experiences. We also offer funding grants for conferences and provide individual guidance to effectively support you throughout your doctoral journey.

Travel funding support
Travel to conferences, symposia, and workshops is subsidized with up to €300 per year. To receive funding, please submit your travel expense receipts after attending the event to: sekretariat.phil uni-mannheim.de
Access to the open-plan office in B6
The bright open-plan office is equipped with monitors and docking stations and offers eight workstations for doctoral candidates, as well as a communication area.
