University of Exeter

The University of Exeter has four campuses located in Exeter and Cornwall, of which the ones in Exeter are regarded as the most beautiful campuses in the country. About 23000 students from all over the world are studying in Exeter, which creates an international atmosphere. The great variety of programs offers courses for everyone.

I spent my semester abroad at the University of Exeter in autumn 2018. As a student of the Bachelor program Culture and Economy, I was able to choose courses from a wide range within the humanities department. I attended modules in intercultural studies, area studies, and advanced essay writing. Life in Exeter takes place on campus since there is a great number of societies, clubs, and restaurants. From surfing to quidditch, there is something for everyone.

Exeter is located in the south of England and close to the coast, which offers many possibilities for great weekend trips. I visited cities like Bristol, Bath, and London, as well as national parks like Dartmoor and beautiful beaches in Cornwall and Devon. The city itself is smaller than Mannheim, but with its high number of students it never gets boring.
