CanadaForum

Established in 2025, the CanadaForum brings together scholars of Canadian Studies from universities in the southwestern regions of Germany and beyond. The network seeks to strengthen the interdisciplinary field of Canadian Studies—members include researchers from American literary and cultural studies, Romance studies, English studies, and North American history. At the center of the network’s interests in Canadian studies are research on language and literature, history, society, multiculturalism, and Indigenous Studies.
- The network’s kick-off event was hosted by Prof. Dr. Stefanie Schäfer and Dr. Antonia Purkon November 6, 2025 at the University of Mannheim . In a workshop format, current projects in Canadian Studies were presented and discussed. The event opened with a keynote lecture by Dr. Myra Bloom (York University, Toronto) on “Canadian Literature and the Culture of Confession.”
