The Juniorprofessorship for the Study of British Literature and Culture is concerned with the complex entanglements of British Literature, on the one hand, and its cultural, historical, and socio-political contexts, on the other. Research and teaching encompass literary and cultural history from the Early Modern Period to the present. Further emphasis lies on literary theory, genre theory, narratology, and the intersections between literature and other media.
Jun.-Prof. Dr. Christine Schwanecke is on parental leave in the Fall Semester 2020. Her courses are taught by PD Dr. Wieland Schwanebeck.
