Universidad de Guadalajara (UdeG) is a public university situated right in in the city center of Guadalajara, Mexico. UdeG is the fourth oldest university in Latin America and the second oldest in Mexico. At present, 209,466 students are enrolled at the different university centers of UdeG.

The university offers an enormously wide range of courses. While most courses are taught in Spanish, some are even held in English. Irrespective of their subject and program of study at home, exchange students can freely choose seminars from all degree programs offered at the UdeG. There is no minimum or maximum number of ECTS that students are required to obtain. Spanish language proficiency at the level of B1 is recommended and you can prove your language proficiency with the Language Certificate.

Guadalajara is the second largest city in Mexico and the capital of the state Jalisco which is situated at the coast of the Pacific Ocean. In the surroundings of the metropolis, which is also called “Pearl of the West”, there are numerous exciting destinations like the village Tequila or Lake Chapala. Come to Guadalajara and get interesting insights into Mexican culture. The city is known as one of the culturally most significant cities in Latin America: many Mexican traditions such as the music of the mariachis have their roots in Guadalajara.

Students of all bachelor's and masters programs are eligible to participate in the exchange program.
