Frauke Fried is academic staff member at the Chair of English Literary und Cultural Studies and doctoral student of Prof. Tracy (Chair of English Linguistics). Frauke Fried’s research interests lie in the areas of English didactics, pedagogical psychology and teaching with digital media. At the moment, she is writing her bachelor thesis for psychology with the titel „The Influence of Teacher Characteristics on the Grading od English Vocabulary Tests” and her doctoral thesis to the topic „Intensive vs. Extensive Reading: A Study on the Impact of L2 Reading Interventions in 5th and 6th Grade.“
After going to school in Germany, the USA and China, Frauke Fried studied English and Maths in Mannheim to become a teacher (1st Staatsexamen, 2008–2011). During her studies, she worked as a research assistant at the chair of Englisch Linguistics and the chair of Padagogical Psychology and as a teacher at the Ursulinen-Gymnasium. Since finishing her teacher training (2nd Staatsexamen, 2013), Frauke Fried has been working as a teacher of Maths and English at the Adolf-Schmitthenner Gymnasium in Neckarbischofsheim. Since 2017 she additionally trains ongoing teachers in pedagogical psychology at the Staatlichen Seminar für Didaktik und Lehrerbildung in Karlsruhe during their teacher training.
