Information for Prospective Students

I decided to study at the University of Mannheim because it was recommended to me by friends. I also like the university's international focus. I wanted to study a program that had interesting content and good career options. The combination of German Studies and Media and Communication Studies gives me exactly what I was looking for. What I like particularly is the fact that the lectures and seminars always address the latest social or political topics and occurrences.

I decided to enroll in the Teacher Education program at the University of Mannheim because of the university’s outstanding reputation. I also really liked the city’s character. The university’s international focus impresses me – it is partners with numerous universities around the world. I was able to spend a semester studying in England. The Teacher Education program is multifaceted and gives students a thorough insight into the different disciplines.

The bachelor’s program in Culture and Economy is a program of study that is rare in Germany: It combines two different fields of study in a very special way. From the very beginning, I liked the fact that the bachelor’s program in Culture and Economy offers the opportunity to develop my communicative and analytical skills. At the same time, I can broaden my knowledge of a specific cultural area and acquire a sound knowledge of economics. This gives me the flexibility to specialize according to my own interests.

 

The decision to study in Mannheim was an easy one: The beautiful campus around the Schloss with its great facilities, a high level of specialization in teaching and the university’s excellent reputation make for an outstanding overall package. The master’s programs in Culture and Economy combine first-class education in Business Administration and/or Economics with a major subject in the Humanities. I chose Philosophy because it enables me to reflect on my own way of thinking: Why do I feel and decide in a certain way? Are there any alternatives? This background enables you to live a lot more consciously.

After completing my bachelor’s degree in Culture and Economy, I decided to pursue a subsequent master’s degree in Culture and Economy. I really like the unusual combination of subjects! The master's program provides me with the opportunity to select my courses in a targeted manner in order to deepen my knowledge of the subject matters I specialized in. Various internships allowed me to even prove my acquired skills in practice. Looking back today, I would definitely chose this program again!
